Travellers carrying declarable goods should use the declaration channel and truthfully declare them to China Customs.
Reference and scope#
China Customs distinguishes the red declaration channel from the green channel for travellers without declarable items. This does not create one blanket allowance for every traveller and type of goods.
Before packing#
Check the current rules for the actual item, quantity, purpose and traveller status. Keep supporting documents where required. Do not assume that a medicine, food, plant, animal product or commercial sample is permitted because it is for a short trip.
