The commemorative Red Boat at Jiaxing’s South Lake was reconstructed in 1959.

Documented place and context#

Jiaxing University’s research centre account distinguishes the 1921 meeting on a lake boat from the later commemorative replica, which went on public display for National Day in 1959. The memorial’s significance does not make the present boat the original vessel used for the meeting.

Planning your visit#

Use 南湖红船 when researching the memorial and distinguish it from a passenger boat service. Check the actual visitor route and the institution responsible for each stop. A memorial boat is not evidence of a sightseeing cruise entitlement, and a historical account does not establish today’s lake transport timetable.

Scope#

This focused introduction is not a full city itinerary or a personal visit report. Planning questions are editorial suggestions. Current prices, transport and operating arrangements require confirmation with the named institution or provider.
