Jingdezhen China Ceramics Museum opened at its relocated site in 2015.
Documented place and context#
The city government’s introduction identifies the museum’s predecessor as Jingdezhen Ceramics Hall and describes a collection devoted to ceramics. The modern museum building and the history of pottery production in the city are different chronologies. A museum visit is not automatically a hands-on workshop.
Planning your visit#
Decide whether you want to see historical objects, investigate kiln archaeology or make a new piece of pottery. Ask each provider what its admission or workshop includes. In a collection display, distinguish a documented excavation or production attribution from a modern reproduction. Confirm the actual museum and current exhibition before selecting transport.
Scope#
This focused introduction is not a full city itinerary or a first-person visit report. The planning questions are editorial suggestions. Current prices, fixed journey times, restaurant ingredients and operating schedules require confirmation with the named institution or operator.
