Lu Xun’s hometown area in Shaoxing includes his ancestral residence, former residence, Baicao Garden and Sanwei Study.
Documented place and context#
A 2021 National Development and Reform Commission account distinguishes these places and describes the earlier memorial institution and subsequent historic-district protection work. The literary associations do not make every present building untouched material from Lu Xun’s childhood. Educational reenactments described in the account are organized programmes, not evidence of residents’ everyday practices.
Planning your visit#
Choose the named building or garden before checking access. Compare a passage in Lu Xun’s writing with the actual place identified by its label, rather than treating every scene as documentary evidence. Check whether a course needs a separate booking. A past programme description does not guarantee a daily performance.
Scope#
This focused introduction is not a full city itinerary or a personal visit report. Planning questions are editorial suggestions. Current prices, transport and operating arrangements require confirmation with the named institution or provider.
