Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using CharmingChinaX (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

CharmingChinaX is a content community that publishes stories, articles, and community discussions about lesser-known aspects of Chinese culture, history, and daily life. The Service includes free and premium (points-gated) content, community forums, and user-generated content features.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features (comments, community posts, premium content), you may need to register an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities under your account.

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when registering.
  • You may not use a false identity or impersonate another person.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • You may delete your account at any time via your settings or by contacting us.

4. User-Generated Content

By submitting content (comments, posts, images) to CharmingChinaX:

  • You retain ownership of your content.
  • You grant CharmingChinaX a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote your content on the platform.
  • You represent that your content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.
  • You agree not to post hateful, harassing, defamatory, or illegal content.
  • We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms, without prior notice.

5. Community Guidelines

All users must follow our Community Guidelines, which prohibit:

  • Hate speech, harassment, or threats against individuals or groups.
  • Spam, scams, or misleading content.
  • NSFW or violent content not clearly marked.
  • Impersonation of staff or other users.
  • Sharing personal information of others without consent.

Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban.

6. Points & Premium Content

CharmingChinaX operates a points system for premium content access:

  • Points can be purchased through the platform. All purchases are final and non-refundable.
  • Points are non-transferable and have no cash value.
  • We reserve the right to adjust point costs and pricing with reasonable notice.
  • Unused points will be forfeited if your account is terminated for violation of these terms.

7. Intellectual Property

The CharmingChinaX brand, design system, logo, and original content published by our editorial team are the intellectual property of CharmingChinaX. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with third-party services (Google Sign-In, Google AdSense, payment processors). Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for the availability or actions of third-party services.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Content published on CharmingChinaX is for informational and entertainment purposes only.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CharmingChinaX shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason with reasonable notice. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your access to premium content and community features will cease.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or a site banner. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. Any disputes shall be resolved through friendly negotiation first; if no resolution is reached, they shall be submitted to the competent courts of Shanghai.
